Fellow Lumlians…
It’s time to enlist your aid.
This time we intend to run from Friday night in the downstairs bar, through all day Saturday, Saturday night, and hang around Sunday morning to see the last attendees off.
This means there’ll be plenty of time for panels, starting Saturday morning and running most of the day. Saturday night will follow the usual format, with an even bigger raffle and quite a few hard-to-come-by, signed items up for grabs.
But mainly want I to talk about panels.
I’ve spoken to a few people already, and several panel subjects are to hand. Such as:
</font> The Bold, the Bad, and the Beautiful: Heroines and Horrors – Female Figures in Lumley’s Fantasies.</font> Favourite Frighteners: the Most Scary Scenes in the NECROSCOPE Series – the Ones That Got Your Guts Going.</font> I Wannabe WAMPHYRIIIII! Which Lord or Lady would you like to have been (and why, for goodness sake?)</font> Collector’s Corner: How, Where, When, and Why do so Many Collector’s Come by These Books? (What is the Pleasure You Get From Stacking Your Bookshelves, and From Which Secret Sources?)</font>That’s a starter. Now, not only do we need people to sit in on these panels and talk about their special thing, but we need a few more panel subjects. So, if you want to strut – or talk – your stuff, now’s your chance.
Volunteers (there’ll be maybe five panellists to a panel).
And then there’s recruiting. We want the cons to be successful, better every year. For which reason we want to keep the numbers of attendees at the same, or higher, level. But it won’t happen if people drop out and aren’t replaced. So if you know any interested folks, please don’t keep this thing a secret. KeoghCon is for all the fans of Necroscope and Brian’s work in general, so point those shy guys in the right direction and let’s make it all happen…
CALL FOR PANEL SUBJECTS AND VOLUNTEER PANELLISTS.
If you have a suggestion for a panel topic or you would like to be a panellist you can reply to this post or if you aren’t a registered member you can contact me direct at silky@brianlumley.com.
Once all the suggestions are in Brian will pick the final panels. Then the panels will be posted on the board and we’ll ask you to pick a panel, or panels, you would like to be on. After all requests are in … Brian will place the panellists onto the panels. He will take into consideration your request, but it would be best if you were to give a couple of choices so as not to be disappointed. And you could possibly be chosen for more than one panel.
NOTE: It is requested that you be absolutely sure you want to be on a panel. You will be sitting on a stage with four other panellists in front of the other attendees. Besides discussing your topic you will be asked questions from the audience and be expected to answer them, or try to answer them. So if you are shy … and from meeting a lot of you … I know most of you are not … I don’t think we’ll have any problems. We don’t want to risk stage-fright at the last minute. :D
Cheers!
