I don't know if this has been done before, but in reading the Necroscope series, I have come up with some questions.
1) Nathan couldn't speak with Harry, because he went off into a million gold darts throughout time and space. But why couldn't/didn't he talk to Harry Jr, the Dweller?
2) Who is Helen? I always thought that Brenda was Harry's first, and yet this girl Helen is mentioned later on.
I'm sure I'm not the only one, what else have you all noticed?? smile.gif

I've noticed that I'm nowhere near as good as you on picking up on things Lady Rissa :)... maybe I just get too involved to notice things.. it's the same with movies I get so engrossed I never notice if they're wearing watches in Roman times. It amazes me how people are so observant. There could be a monster lurking under my bed and i wouldn't even notice lol

**Gasp** I thought you were a Virgo - as you put in another post. Virgos are considered perfectionists, well I am anyway. ;)
Keep in mind, I've read the series so many times, I have most of it memorized by now. :D I just wanted to see if anyone else noticed anything either.

Yeh ... It always takes me a few reads before I pick up and ponder these kind of questions. The first time especially you get dragged along by the story.
I am re-reading Bloodwars for the third time and am finding it even richer than the first time... and I think you pick up things missed the first time round.

If my memory serves me, Helen was someone Harry got it on with in about necroscope 4 or 5 for those who are not that far in there are spoilers here.
Harry gets turned by Fathor Frenzy, Helen is infected by Harry after sexual intercorse and then go's into Thrall to Harry. Harry tries to take Helen with him to the Source world but she falles off the motorcycle and gets killed on the ring around the sphere.
as for Nathan not talking to Harry Jnr. there are 2 probable reasons. 1) Harry Jnr's mind was mostly lost in the change... hence he couldn't remember meetings and was late for Harry Snr and Karen. or 2) the remains of Harry Jnr were decimatedby the nuke... there has to be remains for the "soul" to adhere to.
my question tho is this ( more of a plot hole?? )
Do talents get passed to chilren through DNA?. IE Harry Jnr being a necroscope?. if that is the case how did Nathan inherret the skill as it would have been darcy clarks (?? i think ) DNA not Harrys.

Tonka - good point, although I think you are thinking of Alec kyle, whose body Harry ended up using after Alec's mind was, shall we say, dispersed. smile.gif
*edit* And it was Penny who fell off the motorcycle on the way to the Starside through the Gate, not Helen. Crap - who WAS Helen????

There were characters who had been cremated yet were able to speak with the Necroscope. Reason 1 seems more likely. smile.gif
And Helen was described as Harry's first, what about Brenda?? They were dating even as children. So, to quote Shadoe "Crap - who WAS Helen"

Lardis spoke to The Dweller for the last time at the beginning of Bloodbrothers when he was on his way to the Gate (which also coincides with the end of Deadspawn).
Lardis was also on his way to witness it from afar and learn the outcome; none of which was known to us in Deadspawn.
I'll have to look up the exact words, but the Dweller made it clear somehow that he was nearly unable to communicate any longer as a human and that this was goodbye to his humanity as a whole and all the people he'd known then...
What you are in life...
I don't remember Helen either. Hmmmmmm.....

Whereabouts is this Helen mentioned? The only Helen I can think of is Yulian's cousin, but I can't see why Harry would mention her?
If it was near the end, what was that werewolf called from "The Last Years"? Maybe Harry started to regain his memory?

I think that Helen was just a brief childhood crush, before Brenda who was his first true love.

Ok... I've been trying to get a working "family tree" so to speak going. On paper it looks ok but I have 1 question.
Shaitan tossed Nonari the Gross (a Ferenczy) into the gate thereby banishing him and starting the curse on "our earth". (this was told in Lost years)
But I believe in either Deadspawn or Deadspeak Faethor says his "father" was Waldemar and his father was Belos Pheropzis.
So who was first? Nonari or Belos and who spawned (so to speak) Fess who was the Lord during Shaithis's time?
Edit- Belos Pheropzis was the son of Nonari the Gross grin.gif . I should have read just two pages more in Lost Years *L*

This is actually something I gave great thought to Canker as it confused me a little as well, if I remember correctly I figured that Nonari who fled Radu's wrath changed his name to Belos and tried to lay low for a bit until things cooled down a little.
So Nonari became Belos and he had an egg son through Waldemer who had Faethor as an egg son and Angelo as a blood son etc etc
That's the way I see it anyway, plus FF would never have heard the name Nonari as Belos being secretive and ofcourse Wamphyri would never have told anybody what his orginal name was incase it got back to his enemy Radu.
Ferenczy was a common name among sunsides travellers although a cursed one, plus I'm sure Lagula and Rakhi were a scourge among the young girls of there tribe even before they were Wamphyri and must have spawned numerous bastard son's and daughters, hence there always being Ferenczy's among the olden Wamphyri.
This is all guess work buy the way so it may be slightly or even completely wrong but hey nobody's perfect.
Your a bugger Canker I've just read your edit and I now see that I'm possibly wrong and may have to read the entire series again....Oh woe is me

*L* Sorry Pedar.
Looks like.... from what I can find....
Lagula---Nonari the gross and Freyda Ferenc...
Nonari---Belos...Belos---Waldemar---Faethor---Thibor(egg), Janos(bloodson) and I guess you can include Harry(spore).
Then Thibor--- Yulian and Boris Dragosani.
Is that correct anyone? *L* grin.gif
I've got Shaitans as well but I need to know where The Fess the Ferenc fits in here...was he a spawn of Bela Manculi whom was the only "offspring" of Freyda Ferenc??
Anyone???

Waldemer had the blood son Angelo as well who fathered bloodson's of his own the twins Anthony and Francesco and one of them had a bloodson through Katerin and that was Castelleno.
Didn't Freyda Ferenc who was a mother of vampires spawn three egg sires when she died giving birth as it were to hundreds of eggs ?
And you forgot Rakhi, Lagula Ferenczy's younger brother.

at this point in time...with all the confusion...I just sit back and trust in Brian Lumley's excellent writing skills. And rest assured that he himself kept track of all the little details. And if I ever start to question it I figure the err is on my part, not his. I just must have missed something in my reading. He's too good to leave loop holes. He's Lumley, can we really doubt his excellence?
(that's just an excuse. I don't have access to my books right now and I wanted to feel a part of something ..heh)

Ummmm..... maybe you missed the point... grin.gif
I'm not looking for errors or loop holes.
I'm trying to get a running family tree going of the Wamphryi.
Pedar your right about Lagula's younger brother Rakhi. I didn't include him but should have even though he had no offspring.
Freyda issued over 100 eggs all but 1 I believe perished... hence Bela manculi.
I hadn't gone back and reseached the rest of the clan yet but I will trust me.. thanks again.
Any ideas on Fess?

Sophie If memory serves me even halfway remotely (and it's always questionable, at best!), I believe Helen is mentioned merely as Harry's "first grope" (MY quote, not Brian's)...I could be wrong...

You are right.
Helen was "the small girl from his childhood",
his "first groping (mental as well as physical)"
She is mentioned in Deadspeak (just re-read so it's fresh).
