View Full Version : Irritating Little Gnats...

Apologies to all, but I feel a rant coming on... Shadoe, feel free to delete this if you want.

I have been having, the past week I guess, the same idiot trying to send me the I-Worm/Sir Cam virus and/or others, each and every time, my virus protector catches it and I tell you, who in their right mind is going to be stupid enough to open a file from someone who can't even word sentences right? And especially a business who has coverage to keep things like this from happening in the first place.

And the sad thing is that I think its someone from a club or a board that I frequent, mainly because of knowing not only the website e-mail addy's, but they tried to even say it was important information about a favorite NASCAR driver of mine, from that I see it as personal.

He/she/idiot tried it twice already this am alone, same little intro, but the subject named differently. Now do these people who send these viruses think they can slide past people? Especially being caught at it numerous times? Although it has changed a bit as I cannot now block the address, but you would think that they would have the brains to at least change the little message, if they are going to change the e-mail address or subject. Just makes me want to slap the fire out of them and tell them to get a Damn life.

Censored as written since I usually don't like to swear, but believe me, I doubt that anyone would have liked reading what my mind wanted me to type.

Ok, rant over...

Ema,

Do what I did the first two or three times. Send them a reply informing them that they are sending out viruses. There is always the possibility, especially with some of these worms, that the people don't even know they are doing it. Because some people don't have anti-virus software. :(

If you just keep getting the same message and the virus - they do know - and you need to just set up a rule to delete the thing as soon as it shows up from that person.

And swear at them during lunch to make yourself feel better. smile.gif

Sorry to hear of the trouble you are having, Ema. Some people just are loser.

Hopfully it's not coming from this board and I don't suspect it is since everyone here seems so nice. :D

Anyways....I hope the loser stops and you can get back to not having to worry about it. smile.gif

Interesting, seems I have been able to narrow it down. It is coming from this place. I cannot reply as it is set up to come from the webmaster address of our own web site.

So, whoever it is viewing/or a member of this board, I don't care, have fun and send all you want if thats what it takes to get you through your lousy existence.

Too bad some people have to ruin things for others.

Have a good life all.

Ema,

Can you get the police onto them... it would violate our internet usage act over here... and you could probably get them done for sending malicious things to you... or something... I'm no law expert though.

Sorry to hear about a sad individual that want to ruin the net for people... what a (I can;t say that!)

TOps

Unfortunately no Tops, due to the fact that the (insert VERY bad word here... and I am saying it aloud believe me) has put the friggin thing coming from our own webmaster addy. So what the hell would that do but have the police (yeah right) come right to us?

Just very disappointed right now that someone viewing this site is doing this. Thought of having Shadoe delete my information and ID completely, but thats a lost cause there as the damage is already done. Hard though to gather broken trust up again, you know?

Well Ema speaking for myself..... if there is anything that I could do please feel free and ask.
I'm not usre if there is but maybe the webmaster himself might be able to help. Sorry to hear that you are being bugged by some loser. People really need to get a life.

Hope everything washes out dear. smile.gif

Ema,

In the header info for the email you should have an I address that you will be able to trace the info from .... do you have outlook express (easy)... right click the file, go to properties, then click on details... you should be able to trace the domain it's come from at the very least.

Look at the recieved from information....
